Veterans Parkway_signThe Marshall County Commissioners proudly announce the grand opening of the new Veterans Parkway.  A vision that started over 12 years ago, Veterans Parkway will provide another access point to the new US 31.

“Naming this new road ‘Veterans Parkway’ allows us to honor and acknowledge our military members who served from Marshall County, both past and present, and thank them for their service,” said Commission President Kevin Overmyer.  “Not only will this new route accommodate our residents, but Veterans Parkway will also provide our emergency response teams easy access to US 31, keeping public safety at the forefront.  Eventually, we expect Veterans Parkway to become a new economic corridor for Marshall County.”

The newly constructed roadway includes two 12’ lanes and added shoulders beginning at a newly designed roundabout at Michigan Road and extending east towards the new US 31 interchange. Along with the roadway, a new bridge was constructed to cross the Elmer Seltenright Ditch.

On October 2, 2015, The Marshall County Commissioners, the County Highway Department, area veterans, local community, and all the companies from engineering to construction that made this project possible, will celebrate the grand opening of Veterans Parkway starting at 10:00 am EST.

“The design and construction team worked seamlessly with Marshall County, INDOT, and major stakeholders to overcome several obstacles during the preliminary engineering and construction to bring this outstanding project to fruition,” states Philip D. Beer II, USI Consultants Executive Vice President.
