Bunches Of Blueberries_TriKappa_2On Monday June, 9th Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter proclaimed this week as Tri Kappa Week in the City of Plymouth

Senter said, “2015 marks a celebration of a full century of Plymouth women coming together to enrich our community in areas of charity, culture, and education.  Tri Kappa has continually provided excellent community service over the years at little or no public expense.”

In the past, Tri Kappa has assisted Parkview Hospital with donations of incubators, warming beds, and bilirubin blankets.  They’ve helped with PHS Scholar Honor Banquets and the PHS Children’s Theatre has also prospered from Tri Kappa’s charities.

Other projects Tri Kappa has been involved in include: Decades of teaching Covered Wagon loading and pioneer life and history to generations of 4th graders, Holiday baskets to families in need, Promenade to Prom , the Plymouth History Walk, and Financial assistance to school nurses for funds to directly assist students in need.

Tri Kappa has offered Scholarships to local students, currently 6 annual scholarships at Plymouth High School and 1 to Ancilla College and made annual contributions to over 25 local and 8 state charities, organizations, and causes of charity, culture, and education.

Mayor Senter closed his statement by saying, “I urge all citizens to become aware of the importance of their mission of charity in our community, and to observe this occasion with appropriate ceremonies and activities.”
