In honor of Presidents Day being celebrated last week, Menominee Elementary 3rd Grade students were researching Presidents Day.
9-year-old Izabella Baldwin was excited to give a presentation to her fellow third grade classmates! She informed the audience the day originated in the 1880s to honor George Washington’s birthday on February 22nd but because Americans like long weekends, congress voted in 1968 to make sure that Washington’s birthday would always be celebrated on a Monday.
