On Wednesday, April 9th at 1:57 P.M. the officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of State Road 17 and State Road 8.
Investigating Officer Joe Giodano arrived on the scene and learned that 42 year old Kimberly Moore of Knox was stopped at the intersection of State Road 8 and 17 preparing to turn northbound on State Road 17.
The driver of the Ford Focus, 30 year old Nicole Risner of Plymouth was traveling southbound on State Road 17 to Culver when Moore pulled into the intersection and struck Risner’s vehicle as she was traveling south.
Both vehicles sustained significant damage and had airbag deployment. Lyons Towing assisted in the removal of both vehicles due to the extensive damage.
A 5 year old in the front passenger seat of Risner’s vehicle suffered minor injuries from the crash with airbag abrasions to the head and neck. The child was transported to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center by Plymouth EMS for further treatment.
Assisting at the scene were Marshall County Police and Plymouth Fire and EMS.
