Shakespeare at Notre Dame graced Plymouth High School with their presence last week as six professional Shakespearean actors performed Romeo and Juliet here at the school.
In the audience were dozens of freshmen students who are enrolled in English this trimester. For one full hour the actors kept students focused on the play made famous by William Shakespeare.
This is the second time Shakespeare at Notre Dame has performed here at Plymouth High School.
PHS English Teacher Stephanie Wezeman said, “Last year was the first for the Shakespeare at Notre Dame On Tour program.”
She said the actors last year performed Shakespeare’s classic comedy, Much Ado About Nothing.
Wezeman said, “This year the program has expanded to include Elkhart Central High School, Elkhart Memorial High, and Stanley Clark grade school. We are thrilled to welcome them back and to provide this opportunity for our students.”
