A traffic stop in the 100 block of US 31 and Michigan Road Sunday led to the arrest of a North Liberty man.

On Sunday evening November 15, while on routine patrol, County Officer Les McFarland stopped 25 year old Jeffrey Lewis for exceeding the posted speed limit. During the traffic stop, Officer McFarland detected an odor associated with burnt marijuana. During a search of the vehicle a substance believed to be marijuana along with a Glock 40 caliber handgun was located.

Jeffrey Lewis, II was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail. A small child in the vehicle was turned over to family. A case report will be completed and forwarded to the Marshall County Prosecutor`s Office for review and formal charges being filed.
