Wednesday night Oregon-Davis won their first sectional game since the championship year of 2007. Friday night they continued the streak as they ran away from South Central to set up a title game match with Triton.

“It’s a great win for our guys and our program,” said Bobcat coach Joe Eskridge. “It’s been a long time since we’ve been in a position like this. We have to make the most of it tomorrow night.”

Eskridge’s team is peaking at the best possible time as O-D jumped to a lead early and never looked back. They could do little wrong on either end of the floor in taking the win.

“We’ve been playing real well lately. All year long my guys have played so hard,” said Eskridge. “We had times when we lost our focus and lately we’ve been able to put entire ball games together and play pretty well both offensively and defensively.”

Carl Schnekenburger was in another realm as he only missed one shot from the field on his way to a double/double of 19 points and 11 rebounds to pace the Bobcats. He was one assist away from a triple/double dishing out nine. Joel Worthington (16), Henry Clark (13) and Blake Hurford (13) were also in double figures scoring.

Defensive pressure forced multiple mistakes from the Satellites who were paced by Jacob Clindaniel’s 20 points. Oregon-Davis also had a 28-18 rebounding advantage.

“Tha’s something we’ve been working on all year long – shifting in and out of different looks and try to create some confusion,” said Eskridge. “It seemed to keep them at least uncomfortable on the offensive end.”

The Bobcats stand at 10-13 on the year. South Central closes the year at 13-10.
