CrashInvestigationA traffic accident early Tuesday morning re-routed traffic off of U.S. 31 and onto old Michigan Road through Argos.

18 year old Daniel R. Greene of Eau Claire was traveling north on U.S. 31 Tuesday morning about 2 a.m. in a 2005 Toyota Sienna minivan near the intersection with Kenilworth Road in Argos.   County Police Officer Ryan Hollopeter investigate the crash and believes that Greene fell asleep at the wheel and rear-ended a 2009 Volvo semi driven by 57 year old Merab Tsuleiskiri of Skokie Illinois.

After the initial impact with the semi, Greene’s minivan come to rest in the north bound lanes of traffic.   Greene’s minivan was the struck a short time later by a north bound semi driven by 39 year old Jason J. Gingerich of Kokomo.

 

The front seat passenger of Greene’s minivan, Hadassah Schnepp was pinned in inside the vehicle.  She sustained serious injuries to her lower extremities and was airlifted by Med Flight to Memorial Hospital in South Bend.  The extent of Schnepp’s injuries are still unknown at this time.
