caucusMarshall County Republican Chairman, David Holmes will conduct a caucus on Thursday, November 5th to fill the vacancy created on the Bremen Town Council.  The resignation was created when Heath Thorton resigned his position on the Bremen Town Council so he can serve on the County Council.  Thorton filled the seat vacated when Matt Hassell was elected by caucus to fill the position of Marshall County Sheriff when Tom Chamberlin died.

Candidates have until noon on Monday to declare their candidacy with Holmes or the Marshall County Clerk.

As a Monday morning, Bill Daily a former Bremen Police Officer is the only candidate for the position.

Holmes said, “I don’t expect any others because the balance of the term is less than 2 months.”

The caucus to fill the vacant seat on the Bremen Town Council will be held at 5 p.m. on November 5th in the Bremen Town Hall.
