Operation KidSight is an Indiana Lions program to prevent early problems from Amblopia (Lazy eye) which if not corrected before the child’s eye is fully developed may never be completely corrected without surgery.  The age will vary, but six is considered the outside age when the eye is considered fully developed.  If found early enough, Amblopia may be corrected with eyeglasses.  There is no charge for the screening program and the Lions will provide a child with glasses if the parents cannot afford the cost of glasses.

Plymouth Lions, in cooperation with all the Lions Clubs of Marshall County, work to screen every child in this county.  Lions from Bremen, Argos, Bourbon, and Culver.

As of March 30, 2015, Lions have screened 466 children and have scheduled 78 children in various child care centers around the county.

The list of sites already screened include Marshall-Starke Development center; His Small Wonders preschool; Triton Kindergarten; Kids Country Preschool; Kindergartens, Washington, Menominee, Webster, Jefferson, Wesleyan School, Culver UMC and Max Playhouse Culver.

Twice annually, Plymouth Lions schedule donations at what is called a “White Cane Day” to support the cost of Kidsight.  Please donate to support this very valuable program.

Lions who work Kidsight are:  Devon Stull, Dawn Tapia, Bill Wallace, Jane Wallace, Ruth Kinney, Lynn Davis and Mat Smith.  We always work to recruit anyone and everyone to help with this program.  Tracy Fox, in Culver volunteered and helped with the program there.  Lions are about providing service but we are only as strong as those who so willingly join us in providing this service.  If you are interested in this program or any program sponsored by the Lions Club please contact any Lions Club member.
