Monday evening members of the Plymouth Park Board approved the request of Eric Keilman from the Youth Softball League to rename the diamond at Packard Woods.
Keilman said Bishop was instrumental in getting the youth program up and running. He also started the 12U travel league and was a volunteer for more than 25 years. Keilman also noted that a granddaughter of Bishop is playing on a league team this year.
The Park Board approved the request to rename the youth softball field and have the name on the scoreboard added.
Keilman said they are planning a dedication ceremony for Monday, June 8th.
