This month Plymouth Park Superintendent Mike Hite told the park board he’s submitted a pre-application for a LARE Grant through the Department of Natural Resources.

Hite said he is concerned with a bank erosion issue back by the Dog Park and going toward the sledding hill.   He said a large tree fell that was protecting the area and now the waters of the Yellow River are causing the bank to erode very close to the Greenway Trail.  Hite commented, “It’s gotten so bad that we put up fencing in the area as a safety measure.

A DNR LARE grant provides technical and financial assistance for qualifying projects in an 80/20 split.

Superintendent Hite is seeking approximately $68,000 in grant funds for the project.  He won’t know for a couple of month but if successful hopes to have construction yet this fall on the project.
