Rochester POliceRochester-In the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 14, an officer with the Rochester Police Department, who was on routine patrol, observed a doughnut truck parked in the middle of the roadway in the 900 block of Madison Street. While checking on the well-being of the driver, the officer discovered that the driver of the vehicle was passed out, with the vehicle still in gear and the driver’s foot on the brake.

After attempting to wake the driver for several minutes, the officer was able to speak with the driver and suspected criminal activity taking place. During the investigation the officer located approximately one half of a gram of Methamphetamine, as well as items associated with the use of Methamphetamine, in the vehicle. The subject, 27 year old Nicholas Addam Smith of Angola was arrested on the charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Paraphernalia, and Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.

Criminal charges are merely accusations, and all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty. As always, the Rochester Police Department urges the public to contact the Rochester Police Department about suspected drug activity or impaired drivers at 223-3313.
