On Sunday, September 20, at 8:25 PM the Marshall County Sheriff Department received a radioed request for EMS for an unknown problem in the 7400 block of McLiver Drive on the Plymouth Rock Golf Course.
Officers from the Plymouth Police Department and Marshall County Sheriff’s Department arrived and found 17 year old David M. Bacon inside the residence unconscious. Paramedics from the Plymouth Fire Department were on scene and aid was being rendered to the teen. David Bacon was air lifted to Memorial Hospital in South Bend by Med Flight where he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
David M. Bacon is the son of Plymouth Police Chief David Bacon and his mother Kathleen and a standout on the Plymouth Rockies Football team.
The Marshall County Sheriff Department was assisted by the Plymouth Police Department, Indiana State Police Department and Plymouth Fire Department.
