The Plymouth girls golf team took on Goshen and host Concord at Bent Oak Golf Club in Elkhart on Wednesday evening.  Our ladies took home two W’s to close out our NLC conference round robin.  The Varsity final tally stands at 5-2 in the NLC and with tonight’s wins over overall improves to 8-3.  The JV again was unmatched – other schools struggle to field a JV squad.  Our numbers are healthy – we’re able to field 14 players with everyone healthy.  A bright spot this evening was our JV score.  Our 227 would’ve been good enough to pick up a win on the varsity side.  Our JV players are improving nicely!  Full results attached.

Randi Dunn once again lead the way for PHS, and the field, taking medalist honors with a solid 40.  A significant stat in Randi’s round was her 5 greens in regulation (putting for birdie on 5 of 9 holes).
As a team our putting has improved lately and that’s helped our scoring.  We need to continue to refine our iron play, better approach shots, better wedge play lead to more and better quality scoring opportunities.
We’ve developed some good momentum heading into the post-Blueberry week.  September 12th’s NLC conference tournament at Meadow Valley in Middlebury looms large on the docket.  We will likely be seeded 3rd heading into the tournament.  Other schools finish their final NLC matches on Thursday.  As a team our goal is to finish 3rd or higher in the tournament to maintain or improve our position in the final conference standings.  Prior to the tournament the ladies next match is a 9 hole tune-up vs Rochester and Bremen at Sprig-O-Mint on Tuesday the 8th.
