The National Honor Society Induction Ceremony was held on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in the Plymouth High School auditorium. Thirty-five students were accepted into the PHS National Honor Society. NHS student president Jessica Stillson said, “It is definitely an honor, students need to have leadership, character, scholarship, and service in order to even be considered.”
During the ceremony, inductees acknowledged an inspirational person who has made a significant impact in their lives.

During Sunday’s ceremony National Honor Society members of the class of 2015 were recognized for their commitment, service and leadership!
To become a member of NHS, you must be selected as a candidate by the PHS chapter’s faculty council. Students who meet the chapter’s cumulative GPA requirement are then considered for membership on the basis of service, leadership and character.
Membership is determined by a majority vote of the faculty council, following an evaluation of candidates’ qualifications for membership.
Each year, the Plymouth High School National Honor Society recognizes an outstanding teacher for each six weeks of the trimester schedule. At the end of the year, one faculty member among those six is named the PHS National Honor Society Outstanding Teacher of the Year.
Nominees for this year’s PHS Outstanding Teacher of the Year included the following PHS Teachers in no particular order: Suzette Read – Biology, Mary Gifford – Mass Media/Journalism English, Melissa Faulstich – U.S. History and Government, Ryan Rust – Math, Josh Martin – English and Jeff Corso – English.
During the PHS National Honor Society Induction ceremony held at PHS Sunday, Mr. Ryan Rust was named as the National Honor Society Outstanding Teacher of the Year.
Plymouth High School Principal Jim Condon said, “We here at Plymouth High School are blessed to have a truly talented faculty.”
