PHS_SEED_1 2015The Plymouth High School SEED Club participated in the 3rd annual “Give Back for Christmas,” philanthropic project. SEED stands for Students Engaged in Environmental Development.

The club’s sponsor and advisor, Lori McClellan teaches science at PHS and said the students went shopping for gifts and food for the families, but the fundraising work began months earlier when the students held their annual fundraiser in October.

PHS_SEED_2 2015Mohammad Yasin a PHS junior in the club said, “It feels really rewarding to be able to give gifts and food to families that could use the extra help to make things hopefully a little easier on them during this time of year.”

McClellan said the SEED Club was paired up with the two families through the Marshall County Neighborhood Center. If your club or family would like to adopt a local family in need during the holiday season you can contact the Neighborhood Center at (574) 936-3388.

PHS_SEED_3 2015In addition the dozen or so students who make up the club recently collected non-perishable food items from Plymouth High School teachers and students to give to both families.
