PHS_Senior One Act Plays...2015Three seniors in the Plymouth High School Acting Class presented their One-Act plays on May 16 to family and friends. According to teacher, Charlotte Tyree, those seniors in the 3rd trimester class who wanted to try their hands at directing had to find a published script and, if needed, condense it to 30-40 minute show.

Tyree said, “The directors were to design and create a simple set, all on their own, and were completely responsible for designing their own programs.”

Each of the directors had to choose their cast from members of the class.

Both the directors and cast members found their own costumes and props, many of which were available in the PHS prop and costume storage room.

Directors included Clayton Lenig (“Ballerinas, Choose Your Weapons”), Kylee Rippy (“Seeing Beyond with Maya Fantasma”). and Chase Holzwart (“Boy Mets Girl”).

Among the audience were a number of judges including PHS teachers from vaiorus departments and community members.

This was the 19th year that students in acting classes directed and presented plays. The original idea started with former drama teacher and now Plymouth Community Schools Superintendent, Dan Tyree. Over the years, the classes have been taught by Charlotte Tyree and Jane Faulstich.
