Plymouth High School is excited to announce their Spell Bowl Team has qualified for the Indiana Academic Spell Bowl State Finals that will be held on Saturday, November 14!
The State Final competition will be held in Loeb Playhouse on the Purdue University West Lafayette Campus.
Plymouth High School has competed at the Indiana Academic Spell Bowl State Finals in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Current Coach Schmeltz has been coaching the PHS Spell Bowl Team for five years.
Coach Amy Schmeltz said, “I am incredibly proud of all of the students on the PHS team. They have dedicated themselves to studying the 3500 words on this year’s list. They have worked together to study words after school twice weekly since August, in addition to studying independently. Garrett Garver, Gabby Garver, and Edgar Garcia Cuatlatl were our top spellers at the Area contest, each earning near-perfect scores.”
