According to the American Red Cross every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood and more than 41,000 blood donations are needed every day. These statistics are just a few of the reasons the Varsity Club at Plymouth High School continues the annual tradition to host a blood drive each year at the High School.
More than 120 student donors rolled up their selves and headed to the school’s multi-purpose room at their designated appointment times.
Students 16 years of age, had to have a completed permission slip on file in order to donate. In preparation for this week’s American Red Cross blood drive, student donors kept hydrated and were told not to skip any meals leading up to their blood donation on Wednesday that took place from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the multipurpose room.
The Varsity Club members who volunteered to work the blood drive all day Wednesday are listed below:
Jack Barron
Lanae Singleton
Shannon Stephenson
Morgan Oberley
Cam Eveland
Josh Anders
Curtis Smith
Trevor Neidlinger
