Plymouth Community SchoolsThursday afternoon Plymouth High School unveiled their new Intern Program to a group of business owners and organizations.

High school seniors are focused on the next step their will take after graduation.  Will they go on to college, attend a vocational school or step into the employment market.  As a way to help prepare students going forward, Plymouth High School has designed an Internship Program that will bring students together with business, industry, service and non-profit organizations. The new program will begin in the 2015-2016 school year and be open to any high school senior.

The goal of the program is to help students gain a deeper understanding of all aspects of the workplace.   Benefits to the business or organization is not only the opportunity to share your knowledge with the younger generation but having a tech savvy student to share with you and possibly become a future employee.

An Internship Coordinator will be hired by the school corporation and will work with the student and business to develop a work-based training program customized to each business.  Students involved in the intern program will be able to spend 1 to 3 class periods a day in the workplace.

Plymouth School are currently looking for businesses, industries, services and organizations interested in learning more about the new intern program.  Contact Jen Felke or Michael Delp at the Weidner School of Inquiry at Plymouth High School.
