PHS yearbook Award 2015The Indiana High School Press Association has named the Plymouth High School Mayflower Yearbook a winner in two categories – Yearbook Theme Development Division II First Place and Yearbook Advertising Division II First Place at the annual IHSPA Fall Convention at Franklin College. With these entries, The Mayflower Yearbook Staff demonstrated a commitment to quality journalism. In total, judges evaluated 453 total entries in the highly competitive annual contest.

The Mayflower staff members who worked on these entries include: Editor Maria Herrera, Business Manager Jennah Nifong, Social Media Director Kyndel Grove, Academics Editor Yohoni Martin Torres, Sports Editor Chelsea Baca, Sports Photo Editor C’airra Stephens, Photo Editor Amee Ferrell, Clubs Editor Ciera Meyers, and Student Life Editor Malana Arroyo.

The Indiana High School Press Association was founded in 1922 by two Franklin College students who wanted to help high school students produce high school publications.

The organization continues to provide resources for high school publication advisers and students in addition to signature events including the convention at Franklin College each October and a First Amendment Symposium at the Indiana Statehouse each March.
