We got off to a consistent start (4 guys out in 42 and one 41) however not the low numbers required to win a conference tournament. The golf course was tough and didn’t yield to low scoring as evidenced by today’s winning team total of 320 by Warsaw. 320 was the highest winning team score since I’ve been coaching, easily 10-12 shots higher than the norm. Weather was not a factor as the day was perfect and the conditions we’re excellent.
As a team none of our players were able to score better than 40 a side thus flirted with the 70’s. Strangely enough as a team we we’re three shots better on the more difficult back nine. Ben Schenk lead the team with 81, Reis Yoder and Micah Calhoun shot 83. A bright spot on the day was freshman John Schenk who fired a consistent 84 (out 42 – in 42) one shot off his best of the season.
Reis Yoder was voted on by coaches to the All Conference team. Fellow senior Ben Schenk was voted on by coaches Honorable Mention.
