122 S Center_7-14-15Tuesday evening members of the Plymouth Plan Commission granted Keith Gerrard, owner of 122 South Center Street a one month extension for cleaning up his property.

Late last fall the Plan Commission took a stance against the property which had all types of storage outside in a C-2 commercial zoning district.  Members felt the storage was not organized and appeared to be piles of junk surrounding the building.

In May the Plan Commission gave Gerrard two months to bring the property up to standard.  During Tuesday’s meeting it was stated, “there was substantial progress” but still much more to go.

Gerrard appeared before the Plan Commission and told them he’s been scraping much of the material but the weather has caused him some issues.  He estimates he’s 80 to 90 percent complete.

The Plymouth Plan Commission granted the one month extension with a stipulation that if it’s not complete by their August 4th meeting the city will complete the work and charge his for their services.

Plymouth Code Enforcement Officer, Lisa Plantz presented her first quarterly report to members of the Plan Commission.  Since taking the position in May and through the end of June she has sent 215 letters for tall grass.  There have been 172 owner compliance, 18 the city had to take action on and 25 are still pending.  There were 26 letters for junk or abandoned vehicle and 23 of the owners have complied with the request while the city took action on 1 and there are still 2 pending.  Code enforcement has sent 29 letters for debris and junk to property owners.  16 owners have taken the appropriate action while the city has taken action on 7 and there are 6 still pending.  The final issue is fowl and livestock.  Only two letters have been written with positive action by one owner and 1 still pending.
