Ancilla plays in Play 60PLYMOUTH, IN – In an effort to promote healthy living and physical activity to local families, the LifePlex will pair up, for the second year, with the Ancilla College men’s basketball team to implement the NFL PLAY 60 program on August 20th at the LifePlex in Plymouth.

Charger basketball coach Aaron Butcher spoke about the upcoming event, “We had a great time working with the kids last year at the PLAY 60 event and look forward to another exciting event this year. It is a great time for our guys and the kids enjoy the interaction with college athletes.”

LifePlex owner/General Manager, Mary Holm echoed Butchers excitement, “We’re thrilled about being able to give this opportunity to children to play with the men from the Ancilla basketball team. What a wonderful opportunity for a child to spend an evening with male mentors and learn about active play from college athletes.”

The PLAY 60 program was launched by the NFL with the purpose of encouraging children to participate in 60 minutes of daily physical activity. The mission of the program is to decrease childhood obesity through education and the importance of fitness.

“The partnership between Fitness Forum & Wellness and Ancilla has enriched the college experience and the community’s opportunities for fitness,” said Holm. “We consider the PLAY 60 event a community outreach extension of our working together. We hope that the children participating will have fun and be inspired to greater heights.”
