On Wednesday, December 2, at approximately 8:20 p.m., a deputy with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department initiated a traffic stop on Old US 31 north of Rochester between 700 N and SR 110 in Fulton County.  The deputy approached the driver side door of the vehicle and advised the driver of his traffic infraction and asks for the driver’s license and vehicle registration.  The driver refused the request and then put the vehicle in gear and fled the traffic stop.

The deputy then attempted to stop the vehicle again as the driver failed to stop or yield.  The driver then fled west to US 31 and north into Marshall County.  Trying to elude police the vehicle then continued on county roads until it ran off the road into a field at 13779 Muckshaw Road near Plymouth.  The vehicle then continued to try to elude law enforcement by driving through a farm field until he was unable to continue.

Brock Gabbard, 25 of Plymouth was taken into custody and lodged in the Fulton County Jail.  He is facing charges of resisting law enforcement, driving with a suspended driver’s license, criminal recklessness and neglect of a dependent.  The neglect of a dependent charge is due to a 5 year old juvenile, which was Mr. Gabbard’s son, also being in the vehicle.

Agencies assisting is the incident were the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Argos Police Department, Indiana State Police and both Fulton County and Marshall County 911 / Dispatch.
