City NEwsMonday evening the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety passed a resolution designating a police department Crown Victoria as surplus property.  The resolution also authorizes the transfer of the vehicle to the Board of Aviation Commissioners.

This completes the transfer of the Crown Victoria to the airport for use as a courtesy car for pilots to utilize.  This newer Crown Vic will replace the oldest one at the airport.

The Aviation Board will pay $4,000, the value the police department would have received for the trade in value of the vehicle.

Under other business the City Board of Public Works and Safety approved three requests:  The Plymouth Rotary Club was granted permission to close West Garro Street from Michigan Street to the alley on Thursday, July 23rd through Saturday, July 25th for the annual Pancake Days.  St. Michael School will close Center Street between Madison and Monroe for their annual Olympic Day on May 27th from 7:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. The final request approved was for St. Michael Church to close Center Street between Madison and Monroe on Saturday, May 9th from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. for their first Cinco De Mayo Festival.  The public is invited to attend this event.
