The Plymouth girls golf team competed in the NLC tournament at Meadow Valley golf club in Middlebury on a cold and blustery Saturday.  Attached full results.

The Plymouth ladies fired a 370, one of their season bests, good enough for 3rd overall.  The ladies finished 3rd in regular season play loosing only to Wawasee and regular season and tournament champ Northwood.

Senior Randi Dunn got off to a hot start going out in 38.  Randi’s 84 was good for 4th overall.  Senior Morgan Oberley improved on the back 3 shots to fire an 89 – good for 8th overall.  Senior Katie McDonald had her best round in weeks improving 6 shots on the back firing a 98 – good for 14th overall.  I was very proud of our seniors and the effort they put forth getting ready for their final NLC tournament.
Rounding out the scoring for Plymouth we’re Juniors Lauren Kolter 99 and Katie McDonald 100.
By virtue of her finish Randi Dunn played her way onto the all-conference team, top 5 in the tournament are automatic qualifiers.  From the remaining two votes across the entire field Morgan Oberley was voted by NLC coaches to the all-conference team.   Even though her score was highest on our team today, Junior Katie Johnson’s performance throughout the NLC regular season solidified her stead in coaches eyes.  Katie was selected by NLC coaches as NLC honorable mention!
Historically speaking today’s 3rd place finish was the best our girls have scored and finished since 2007 when our girls won the regular season and the tournament.  Since the inaugural year of girls golf at PHS in 1993 our girls have earned NLC titles in 2001, 2006, and 2007.
The ladies are next in action Monday at PCC vs SB Adams and Culver Academy.  The ladies will be donning special pink uniforms and accessories for breast cancer awareness.
