MugShot_Palmer,JamesOn Saturday, September 05, at 2:17 p.m. the Marshall County Sheriff`s Department obtained an emergency call of an unknown auto accident in the area of North Michigan Road north of Hoham Drive.  County officers Mathew Brown, Rob Hafke and Les McFarland responded to the accident scene.

Timothy R. Marek of Culver was traveling northbound on Michigan Road with James Palmer behind him.  Marek had slowed and stopped in traffic to make a left turn when 31 year old James Palmer of Plymouth ran into the back of Marek`s vehicle causing the accident.  Marek had several children in his vehicle and so did Palmer.

During the investigation of the crash it was discovered that James A. Palmer had a suspended driver license with a prior charge and was driving with no insurance.  Officers believed that Palmer was Operating While Intoxicated on drugs and transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth for a chemical test.

James A. Palmer was arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail for Driving While Suspended with a prior charge.  A case report will be completed and forwarded to the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office for review and formal charges.
