StarkeCountyMug_Jason CookeOn Wednesday, October 7th an officer with the Starke County Sheriff’s Department responded to IU Hospital in regards to a subject in the Emergency Room that appeared to have been assaulted.

Officers spoke to several subjects who brought the victim to the hospital.  It was discovered the altercation had occurred at a residence in the 100 East block of 500 South.

Starke County Detectives observed evidence at the residence and applied for a Search Warrant.    Indiana State Police Crime Scene Technicians and Starke County Detectives retrieved possible evidence for prosecution of the alleged crime.

On Thursday, October 8th Detectives discovered a possible suspect was at the Red Rock Inn in Plymouth.

Plymouth Police and Starke County Detective went to the Red Roof Inn to question the suspect, Jason Cooke. Officers located him in a room and were given consent to search. During the search officers located items relative to the crime that was committed in Starke County.

36 year old Jason Cooke of Plymouth has been preliminary charged with Robbery resulting in serious bodily injury a Level 2 Felony and Aggravated Battery resulting in serious bodily injury a Level 3 Felony. He is currently being held on a $100,000 Surety Bond or $75,000 Cash Bond in the Starke County Jail.
