Plymouth Police and EMS were called to a dog bite complaint near the intersection of Liberty Street and Pennsylvania Avenue Monday morning about 11:30. The initial call was of a lady down and had been attacked by a pit bull.
Plymouth Officer Steve DeLee investigated the complaint and located 75 year old Beth Pinkerton lying on the ground holding her small dog. She had an injury to her hand and was bleeding. Pinkerton was treated by EMS at the scene and later went to her family physician.
Witnesses on the scene pointed out the dog sitting on the porch at 624 Pennsylvania Avenue. Officers went to the address and found no one at home and the dog running loose. The animal willing got into the patrol car and was transported to the police station until the humane society could pick it up.
Ms. Pinkerton’s dog was housed at the Plymouth Veterinary Clinic for treatment of minor injuries.
