Plymouth_Logo_2014Tuesday evening, architect Brent Martin defined the downtown brick paver project with members of the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission.  Last week Mayor Senter, City Attorney Sean Surrisi and Martin meet to determine the scope of the brick project.

The primary park of the project is to replace the bricks set in mortar on the east side of Michigan Street.  In addition there is one small brick area east of Michigan on the north side of Garro Street included in the base project.  As an alternative bid the brick areas on the north and south side of LaPorte Street west of Michigan Street will be considered.

Not part of the scope, on the west side of Michigan, the two remote brick areas just north of the bridge and south of the bridge in front of Bowen Printing.

Martin said, “Also in the project is power washing all of the sidewalks on Michigan Street in the defined area which will spruce them up a little bit and applying a water-repellant. Also randomly in the scope of the project is patching the curb where it’s deteriorated or broken off.”

This project should be completed yet this fall thanks to funding from the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission.
