Plymouth Community SchoolsThe Plymouth School Board named Andy Hartley the new Assistant Superintendent during a meeting on March 3. Hartley had assumed the duties of the position in January of this year after former Assistant Superintendent ,Dan Funston, resigned to accept a position in the private sector.

Hartley had been the principal at Washington Discovery Academy prior to moving to the administration office.

Hartley first came to the Plymouth schools in 2008 after accepting a position as Assistant Principal at Plymouth High School. He moved to Washington Academy in 2012.

He had taught for five years prior to coming to Plymouth.

Hartley holds a BS degree from Manchester College (University) in Elementary Education with a Junior High/Middle School Social Studies endorsement. He additionally holds a MA from Butler University.

In 2012, Hartley completed work to obtain a superintendent’s license after earning his Educational Specialist in School Administration.

The Board also filled the opening for the Director of Quality Programs. The Board had voted unanimously at the February Board meeting to name Busse the Interim Director. Busse had been serving the corporation’s as the eLearning Coach. The former Director of Quality Programs, Michele Riise, was hired as the Argos Schools Superintendent, effective January I, 2015.

Busse’s interim salary had been calculated on the lowest administration level salary since she does not as yet hold an administrator’s License.
