Plymouth Community SchoolsThe Plymouth School Board will meet for a regular session followed by a Board of Finance meeting on January 6, 2015. The regular meeting will convene at 7:00 P.M.

At the beginning of the Board meeting, members will elect a new president, vice-president and secretary for the calendar year. They will also appoint a Corporation Treasurer and establish bonds for both the Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer. Other agenda items include voting on Board member compensation, appointing a legislative liaison, appointing members to the Strategic Planning Committee, establishing legal counsel, and establishing regular meeting times and dates.

The Board is expected to approve the resignation of Assistant Superintendent Dan Funston and the transfer of Andrew Hartley as temporary Assistant Superintendent. Hartley’s current position as principal of Washington Discovery Academy will be filled temporarily by Amy Gerard, with Board approval. Funston has accepted a position in the private sector and his last day with the Plymouth Corporation will be January 9, 2015. Gerard is currently the Director of PBL (Project Based Learning) for K-12. She is scheduled to assume the duties at WDA on January 5, 2015.

Additional changes for personnel in the Administration Office include Wendy Haenes from Payroll Specialist to Deputy Treasurer/Payroll Specialist and Brittany Sabinas from Executive Secretary to Accounts Payable Specialist.

During the Business Agenda portion of the meeting, the Board will accept conflict of interest statements and hear a report on strategic planning. They will also be expected to act on a request for permission to hire.

The Board of Finance meeting will follow at approximately 7:45. The meeting is organizational and the only agenda item is the election of president.
