Plymouth Community SchoolsAndy Hartley, Assistant Superintendent for the Plymouth Community School Corporation is reminding parents and students of registration dates and important information for this school year.

If parents have not completed the online registration for school, or you prefer to register in person, the Plymouth Community Schools will host One-Stop Registration for all students at the Plymouth High School on Wednesday, July 22nd from 7 to 10am, 12 to 3pm, or 5 to 7pm and on Thursday, July 23rd from 11am until 2pm or 4 till 8pm.

Those participating in on-site registration should enter through Door number 5 and proceed to the cafeteria.  If you have already registered online and paid rental fees, there is no need for you to attend the Registration Days.

Hartley said, “Please recall that we have made the move to a balanced school calendar this year, so the first student day is August 5th.”    Also the Plymouth Community School Corporation has added delayed start Mondays in order to embed more professional learning for their teachers. Hartley said, “Even though school will start a little later on Mondays, please be aware that we will continue to provide bus transportation at the regularly scheduled times like every other day of the week.  Appropriate supervision will be provided for our bus riders and for those students who need to be dropped off on Mondays like every other day.”

Plymouth Community Schools is just one in a number of districts in Indiana that have implemented a similar program. Research has shown that job-embedded professional learning can increase student achievement more than infrequent or fragmented professional development.  Monday start times will be; Elementary schools 8:25, Riverside Intermediate 8:30, Lincoln Junior High 8:35 and PHS 8:40.

Parents and students should also be aware that Fridays will be a full day of school.  Plymouth Schools will no longer have an early release on Fridays.
