Prevent Child Abuse INdianaIn light of the recent tragedy that has rocked the community, there has been a lot of talk about prevention and what we, as a community, might be able to do in regards to prevention of child abuse and neglect.  There is a statewide organization known as Prevent Child Abuse Indiana (www.pcain.org) that has local chapters in many counties.  There are 23 counties that have never had a council, and Marshall County is one of these.  However, that is about to change!

Halley Kittrell, CASA Director for Marshall County has been in contact with the Prevent Child Abuse Indiana community partner director, Mary Armstrong Smith, who will be at the Plymouth Public Library on Monday, October 5, at 1:00 p.m. for an informational meeting on how we can get started in forming a Prevent Child Abuse Indiana council in Marshall County!

Kittrell said, “We need your involvement and your networks!  EVERYONE is invited to this meeting!” She continued, “It is during the day and I know many of you may be working, but this is an informational and planning meeting in which we will set a date for a community meeting, likely in the evening, so please don’t think you can’t be involved if you cannot make it to the first meeting!
