The Lincoln Junior High 8th grade A team participated in the Northwood Middle School tournament on Saturday, November 21st. In the first game, the 8th graders defeated Warsaw Lakeview by a score of 29-22. Joe Styers was the leading scorer with 7 points in his first game of the season. Thomas Dolan chipped in 6 points as the Red Storm advanced to the championship game.

In the championship game Lincoln fell to Warsaw Edgewood by a score of 46-35. Edgewood held a 10 point advantage, 26-16, at halftime. Lincoln made some great defensive adjustments at the break and held the Tigers to only 2 points in the third quarter.  With almost 5 minutes left in the game the Red Storm would take a 33-30 lead, but the full court press proved to be too much as Plymouth fell to the rival Tigers. Kendall Himes scored 12 points and Thomas Dolan had 11 points making 7 of 8 free throw attempts in the second half.  The 8th grade A team is now 2-2 on the year and will play Wawasee and Urey on Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving Break.

The Lincoln 7th Grade A team participated in a tournament at Northwood Middle School on Saturday morning. The Red Storm came away with a split, defeating the Lakeview Tigers 31-16, pulling away in the second half to get to the championship game.  Lincoln was led by Jake Reichard with 10 points, Collin Mills with 6 points, and Ivan Winkle and Matthew Dobuck with 4 points each in the opener.

In the championship game, the Red Storm were defeated by the Edgewood Tigers 45-30.  The Tigers jumped on the Red Storm from the opening tip and never looked back.  A strong 3rd quarter wasn’t enough for Lincoln to get in front and Edgewood beat the pressure in the 4th quarter to come away as tourney champs.  Lincoln was led by Daniel Bacon with 12 points, Jake Reichard with 9 points, Ivan Winkle with 6 points, and Collin Mills with 3 points.  The Red Storm are in action again next week at home on both Monday and Tuesday.
