The Lincoln Junior High Boys Basketball team traveled to Laporte Boston on Thursday night for a thrilling night of basketball action. In the A team game, the Red Storm trailed at half time 20-12 after having 13 turnovers in the half.  Lincoln came out and climbed back into the game, cutting the lead to two points heading into the fourth quarter. It continued to go back and forth in the final minutes without either team gaining an advantage as the game headed into overtime. The Red Storm defense really picked up holding Laporte scoreless in the extra frame to take a 46-40 win heading into Winter Break.  Kendall Himes was the high point man for the game with 25 points. Adam Hunter scored 9 points with Tolman Mills and Dane Funston adding 6 points each.  The A team is now 10-5 on the season.

The B game continued the excitement as Lincoln won 29-28 in overtime in a back and forth contest. Dylan Gamble scored 12 points and Konnor Ray chipped in 7 points. The B team is now 6-1 on the year.

 

The Plymouth Boys 7th Grade A-Team continued their winning ways Thursday night when they hosted LaPorte-Boston. Plymouths dominating defense held Boston scoreless in the 1st period and led them to winning the game by the score of 43-22. Leading the team in scoring was Daniel Bacon with 18 points. Bacons hard work in practice has paid off, as he has played outstanding in his last four games. This season the boys made the decision to start each game with an up tempo and tough defense. This mentality has led them to out score their opponents in the 1st quarter by the score of 138-88. Heading into Christmas Break the A-Team has compiled a record of 13-2. The boys will be back in action on January 5thversus Knox.

The Plymouth Boys 7th Grade B-Team was in action on Thursday night against LaPorte-Boston. Plymouth lost each of the first three quarters and had a 6 point deficit heading into the final period. The boys then applied a highly affective full court press that resulted in multiple turnovers by Boston. As the momentum changed on the court, the players fed off of the awesome atmosphere and mounted a huge comeback. Plymouth out scored Boston, 15-5 in the 4th period and went on to win by the score of 31-27. Leading the scoring for Plymouth was Hayden Hopple with 12 points and Matthew Janus with 10 points. Jaret Brown was instrumental at the end of the game by hitting two free throws to put the game away. The B-Team’s record for this season is now an impressive 4-1.
