On Saturday the 8th grade Redstorm volleyball team traveled to Indian Springs for the Eagle Star Volleyball Classic. Play started at about 9am when the Redstorm took down the very talented, defending champs Blackhawk Christian in two games 25-19 and 25-12. Next they dropped the first game 22-25 against DeKalb, but won the next two to pick up the win for the match 25-11 and 15-11. Strong serving runs were key all day for the ladies. In the final game of pool play the ladies played the host team, Indian Springs Eagles and dominated 25-14 and 25-10 to win our pool and advance to the championship game. In the championship game they faced an excellent Leo team. There were long rallies, tough serving, excellent net play, but in the end the Lady Redstorm defeated Leo in two games 25-20 and 25-22 to bring home the first place trophy! Action this week includes a home game on Monday night against Rochester and then home again on Thursday night against Bremen starting at 5pm. This weekend the ladies travel to Crestview for their final tournament of the season.
