Republican_municipal_Candidates_all of themOn Wednesday afternoon several municipal candidates converged on the Marshall County Clerk’s Office to file their intentions for run for City of Plymouth elected positions.

Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter will be seeking his third term as mayor of the city.

Republican_Municipal_candidates_DelpCurrent City Councilmen: Wayne Smith, Mike Delp, Duane Culp, Don Ecker and Shawn Grobe joined Mayor Senter and also filed their intentions to seek another term.

The number of seats on the Plymouth Common Council will have to be increased in 2016.  Indiana statue require cities over 10,000 in population to have a Council of seven members as opposed to the five members that currently make up the Plymouth City Council. The final census tally lists Plymouth as having a population of 10,033.

Republican_municipal_candidates_BurdhalChris Burdahl filed for one of the additional At-Large seats.  It is anticipated that Bill Walters will seek the second At-Large seat but a death in the family kept him from filing with the other Republic municipal candidates on Wednesday.

In September Plymouth Clerk Treasurer Toni Hutchings retired and a Republican caucus elected Jeanine Xaver to file the vacancy.  Xaver filed her intentions to run for Plymouth Clerk Treasurer on the Republican ticket in the 2015 elections.

Other municipal offices up for election include Clerk-Treasurer of Argos, Bourbon, Bremen, Culver and LaPaz.  Three council seats in Argos, two in Bourbon, four in Culver and three in LaPaz are also up for election.
