ArrestedA 30 year old Plymouth man was arrested Sunday morning with a charge of strangulation.

At 11:30 Plymouth Police were called to the 1500 block of North Michigan Road for an unknown 9-1-1 call because of a language barrier.  The suspect, Guadalupe Rivera had left the scene but came to the Plymouth Police Department to speak with an officer.

Rivera was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked in for strangulation and domestic battery.    His cash bond was set at $1,505.

Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
