The 6th grade Rockets A team closed the regular season with a 43-27 win over Knox. The Rockets were lead by Daniel Bacon (10 points), Jake Reichard (9 points), Ivan Winkle (6 points), Drew Harrell (6 points), and Hayden Hopple (6 points). Owen Bockman lead the team with 3 blocks that lead to fast break points for the Rockets. The Rockets played great team defense in the second half helping increase the lead and putting away the Redskins in the middle of the 4th quarter. The Rockets play Saturday January 24th at 12:45 @ Tippy Valley Middle School. The Rockets are now 11-3 heading into the tourney.
The B team closed out the regular season in dramatic fashion with a 19-17 buzzer beating win. Kyle Johnson lead the team with 9 points and hit the game winning 3 pointer. Matt Janus chipped in 6 points with the Rockets forcing turnovers towards the end of the game to give the team the opportunity to take the winning shot. The team had to overcome shooting troubles shooting 20 % from the field. The Rockets B team plays @ Tippy Valley Saturday at 10:15 am. The Rockets are now 10-3 heading into the tourney.
