MugShot_RubioFabianMonday morning at 10:30, 20 year old Fabian Roman Rubio of Lake of the Woods was charged with Murder, Sexual Misconduct with a Minor and Abuse of a Corpse.  Rubio was read charges this morning as he sits in the Marshal County Jail on unrelated charges.

In a press conference at 11 o’clock Marshall County Prosecutor Nelson Chipman detailed the case and said, “From the moment this tragedy was reported to authorities, just after 8 a.m. on December 19,2014 officers from the various departments came together in a seamless transition to form a team with each member sharing their talents, training and expertise focusing on this crime.”

It was about 8 o’clock Friday, December 19, 2014 when a gentleman walking his dog on 5th Road called 911 when he came across the body of a young,  white female, partially clothed with the upper part of her body charred from fire.

An autopsy on December 22nd identified the body of that of 15 year old Desi Jones.  The report ruled the cause of death as blunt force trauma with injuries to the head.  The additional injuries were inflicted postmortem.  Marshall County Coroner William Cleavenger ruled her death as a homicide.

With forensics evidence and information from numerous interviews, Marshall County Detective Duane Culp and Indiana State Police Trooper Lori Lemler read the charges to Fabian Roman Rubio. He continues to be held in the Marshall County Jail with no bond for this charge.
