Monday’s weather is not helping the situation with Marshall County roads.
Tuesday morning the highway department had to take some precautions on Sycamore Road just north of the intersection with State Road 17.
An excessive amount of water began draining from a wetland area behind the old West School and traveled south across and along Sycamore Road. The extreme rush of the water is causing erosion along the edges of the roadway and in the center of the road.
The highway department had to place gravel fill on the west side of the road to keep the water from washing out the road and high water signs to keep traffic moving on the center of the roadway instead of the edges.
