CentennialPark_enteranceScott Michel, Activity Director for the Plymouth Park Department tendered his resignation to the Park Board during Monday’s meeting.

Michel has been hired by the Plymouth Community School Corporation to teach agriculture in the Weidner School of Inquiry.

Scott has been with the park department for 4 years and said the one thing he is most proud of during his time with the park was the addition of the light show at River Park Square during the Christmas holiday season.

The Plymouth Park Board approved the request of Terri Dennie, Allie Dennie and Daphne Stapleton were granted use of the Webster Center to conduct baton twirling lessons.  They will pay the park 10%.

The board also approved use of parking lot at River Park Square for the Michiana Car Scene to conduct a cruise-in on Saturday, August 22nd from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. The area will not be blocked off to patrons using the par facilities.  Javi Gallardo from Michiana Car Scene explained that they have a month cruise-in and have gathered in Plymouth in the past at Mancino’s and the Coffee Lodge. He indicated that all types of cars and bikes are welcome and there is no charge.  Some of the vehicles will cruise up and down Michigan Street.

Park Board president Dave Morrow also announced that Allie Shook will replace Bob Listenberger on the Park Board.  Listenberger had to resign as he has moved out of Plymouth.
