ShopWithACop2014_logoThe Shop With A Cop and Emergency Services program sponsored by Plymouth F.O.P. 195 is in full swing. Shop With A Cop takes deserving children, about 250 primarily elementary and middle school age shopping in December.  The shopping trip includes winter outerwear, warm clothing, shoes and other necessities and there’s always a little left over for a toy.

The day begins with a breakfast provided by the Masonic Lodge. Last year Shop With A Cop expanded to include senior citizens.  The FOP provided grocery gift cards to the local groceries to unexpected seniors who were shopping.  This year they hope to grow the senior assistance even more and provide some transportation cards too.

Applications for assistance for children are now available at all elementary schools in Marshall County.  You can request an application from the counselor at your child’s school.  Applications are also available at the Boys and Girls Clubs, at WTCA 112 West Washington Street in downtown Plymouth or the Pilot News.

Applications are one per family and must be filled out COMPLETELY for consideration.   Applications must be returned by Friday, December 4th at the close of business and participants are responsible for their own transportation to the shop.

Currently Shop With A Cop is gearing up for the annual Radio Auction on WTCA.  Scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on Friday, December 4th the auction is expected to boast over 400 items on the various auction blocks.  There will be two action blocks each hour and a link will be on the WTCA website, am1050.com about a week before the auction with photos of the various items.

The FOP has received a couple of unique auction items for this year’s fundraiser.
