On Sunday, November 22nd, at 11:53 pm, Marshall County Police Officer Ryan Hollopeter stopped a mini-van for several traffic violations that were committed in the area of Michigan Street and U.S. 6 in LaPaz. During the traffic stop investigation, it was discovered that the driver was intoxicated. 22 year old Maceo G. Smith of South Bend was subsequently arrested for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (A-Misdemeanor) as well as Public Intoxication (B-Misdemeanor). Smith was held in the Marshall County Jail on a $1,500 cash bond.
