PLYMOUTH, IN – Renee Smith, daughter of Fred and Michele Smith, recently signed her National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Letter of Intent and will join the Ancilla College Lady Charger basketball team for the 2015-2016 season.

As a graduate from Riley High School and guard for the Wildcats, Smith was a four year varsity athlete, earned two varsity letters and was awarded the Most Mental Award and the Most Hard Working Award.

“I chose Ancilla because I feel at home,” said Smith. “I am excited for the opportunity to grow as a player and a person.”

“Renee plays with a lot of energy and passion,” commented Ancilla College head women’s basketball coach Tom Robbins. “She is also a really good shooter and will help our team get to the next level.”

Former Ancilla College men’s basketball player Thomas “Petey” Brown was instrumental in helping Smith be recruited to Ancilla.

Renee will be majoring in Behavioral Science, as she continues her education and athletic career.
