NewsAfter several months of investigating several burglaries, the Starke County Sheriff’s Office recovered numerous items that have been reported from burglaries and thefts around the county.

StarkeCounty-MugShot_Spohn_Danti_ByerOn Tuesday, August 4th detectives located the stolen property at a residence in the 300 block of 500 E in Knox. During the incident suspects David Spohn (30) of Knox and Stephen Danti (35) of Grovertown were arrested.

A third suspect named Michael Byer (27) of Grovertown resisted arrest and led several Police agencies on a hour chase through the woods by the Yellow River in Knox.

StarkeCounty_MugShot_Spohn_Danti_Byer_2Starke County K 9, Terror tracked the suspect and he was apprehended in the middle of the Yellow River by officers.

Detectives received and executed a search warrant for the residence, garage, and van recovering hundreds of stolen items and evidence relating to the crimes.

StarkeCounty_MugShot_Spohn_Danti_Byer_3Michael Byer has been preliminary charged with Burglary, Theft, and Resisting Law Enforcement. David Spohn and Stephen Danti are preliminary charged with Burglary and Theft.

More charges are pending at this time for burglaries and thefts on the suspects.

Majority of the items have been returned to their owners but there still is some items that haven’t been claimed.
