StarkeCounty_MugShot_BENNY GISELBACHOn Wednesday, April 15th, at approximately 12:22 pm the Starke County 911 Center received a call from the Bass Lake Pub advising of a female that was at the establishment in handcuffs and shackles.  The female said that she had been held hostage and that she had been “water boarded’.
Starke County Deputies arrived on scene and spoke to the victim who was still in handcuffs and shackles and they learned that she lived across the street and had fled on foot.
Officers from the Starke County Sheriff’s Office, Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana State Police and the DNR responded to the area and began to search for the suspect.
The Starke County Sheriff’s Department K9, Terror and handler Chief Detective Rob Olejniczak also responded to the scene. A track was started with the K9 and a short time later the suspect, Benny Giselbach, 37 of Knox was located in a small pond.  Giselback was taken into custody without incident.
The victim was interviewed by Starke County Detectives and after reviewing her statement, Benny Giselbach was charged with Domestic Battery, Criminal Confinement, Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon and Criminal Mischief.
